So, my best friend and I were having lunch today and she out of nowhere asks me " What is art to you and why do you like it?" I sat there trying to explain for the next half hour what it is to me. I think I just made her confused though. Heh. Anyways, I figured I'd share with those of you who read this what art is to me.
Art to me is, of course, a form of expression. However, it's meaning varies from person to person. Two people could see the same black dot on a white canvas and one person will automatically come up with the idea that it is the darkness against the light of the world and the other person will think it's just a dot. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I love art because it brings out emotion in people and has the ability to bring us together in ways that nothing else can. If you see that dot on that canvas and happen to share the same view of it as someone else, there's nothing like that. That's why art is so beautiful to me, because its meaning is as different as the people who admire it.
Well, I'm sorry if that made absolutely no sense. I kinda just rattled off there. Now, I'm challenging everyone who reads this to define what art means to them. Who knows, maybe we've got the same view
